The short version

This is not a ranking. Operators are listed alphabetically, nobody paid to be here and we take no commission.
Prices are what each company publishes — often a “from” price, and often lower for bigger groups. Read the basis under each figure.

A low “left per day” is a question to ask, not a verdict: it can mean lean overheads, or big groups and thin crew pay.
Always get a written quote. Prices change, and some of the pages we found disagree with each other.

How we checked

We started from the 28 operators in the independent Kilihub directory and checked every price again, independently, against the operator's own published pages in October 2026. Where a company's own pages disagree, or the page is clearly old, the price is marked with an asterisk and the note says why. Where we couldn't find a first-party price at all, we say so rather than borrowing someone else's figure.

KPAP status comes from the IMEC Partner for Responsible Travel register. “Left per day” subtracts the park fees and VAT — $1,109 for eight days on Lemosho (including the western forest fee) and $956 for seven on Machame — and divides by the days on the mountain. Some prices also include hotel nights and transfers, which come out of the same remainder. The colours use the same rule of thumb as the quote checker.

Common questions

How much do Kilimanjaro operators charge?

Among the operators we checked, published prices for a seven-day Machame climb run from about $1,500 to $4,990 per person, and for an eight-day Lemosho from about $1,800 to over $6,000. Most established operators sit between roughly $2,500 and $3,500. Prices change with group size, season and what is included, so confirm the current figure in writing.

Which Kilimanjaro operators are KPAP partners?

Of the 28 operators on this page, 19 appear on the IMEC / KPAP Partner for Responsible Travel register. The register changes as companies join or are suspended, so check the live list before you book.
